January 11th, 2009The cherry tomato crop at the bottom of the garden continues to give an abundant harvest. The plants apparently sprung up outside the vegetable patch (most probably as a result of bird activities). A number of plants have since formed thick bushes that prove quite labour intensive to harvest.
Nevertheless I collected over a kilogram of small cherry tomatoes and together with a cucumber found hidden in the vegie patch, half a green capsicum, and Redmond’s homemade bread, I made a big batch of Gazpacho soup.
Incidentally, while harvesting, I noticed bite marks on a number of the tomatoes that were ripening. A look out the window this afternoon identified the culprit.
