The first real suzuki (pampas) grass I have seen. This elegant arrangement was wrapped up in brown paper and hung up high, in front of the shutter, outside a shop that was closed for the public holiday. Is this a celebration of the season? Or perhaps an offering of thanks to the brightest and roundest full moon of the year?

Today I went to the chemist to buy sunblock. Last season’s was half price, but it was that real thick stuff that makes you look like a ghost. They’re still waiting for a new shipment of the nice invisible cream you put on your face.
And on the way home, my first “shirtlessness” sighting of the season.

No shirtless here but one certainly feels like at when one is dripping with sweat. But everyone else seems so impervious to the heat and humidity with immaculate atire and make-up. Air-conditioning is very mild (if at all), it is as though people feel that they must experience what the season has to offer. I think relief is on its way though.
