April 2nd, 2009Last weekend whilst in North Wollongong we bought some sweet pastries from a Lebansese restaurant, called Nonabel, just outisde of town. When we were waiting to be served, we saw some very delicious looking Lebanese pizzas came out of the hot oven. We decided to drop in today after work to have an early meal.
The restaurant adverstised ‘Rear parking’ on the busy Princes Highway so we drove in but only to find a rather difficult-to-negotiate space with 3 tight car parking spots. This parking lot was elevated and beyond the waist-high wall was a citrus grove with oranges, lemons, limes, and mandarins. The trees had glossy leaves and were heavy with fruit. It seemed supply has exceeded demand. Most of the ripe fruits dropped on the ground, remained there, rotting and growing mould. This grove is ripe for some gleaning.
