Seasonal Almanac

A slightly cool morning turned into a fine day with the maximum hovering around the mid-20s and relative humidity at around 50%. I walked home from the train station. The golden afternoon light was bathing all the greens along the road. On Balfour Road the tall trees filtered the sunlight creating intricate shadowplays. I walked up Asquith Street. A young boy was sitting on his skateboard as he hurtled down the road (using his shoes as brakes). I noticed many plants on roadside were flowering. When I got home, I went out and saw that one of the camellia shrubs (Camellia sasanqua 雪月花) has started to flower. The first bloom of the season.
