Autumn (Tokyo Studio)

There are indeed persimmons at the stores, supermarkets and green grocers already, but they don’t look particuarly ripe yet. What’s in stall already is aomikan – green/ un(der)ripe mandarins. These are eaten mostly green and valued for their tart, almost lime-like taste. They are eaten fully ripe at New Year’s. Of course chrysanthemums are the flowers of the season and a whole variety have been available for a while.
