Hakuro: Wild geese come/ shrikes begin to call (2 of 5)

We visited the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography in Ebisu today. Afterwards we tried to take a shortcut to the National Institute for Nature Study in the nearby Shizen Kyoiku-en. The west side of the park is skirted by the Shunto Expressway no.2. So although we could see the trees and greens beyond the walls of the motorway, we couldn’t get in. As we tracked back to the station, we saw these boys were running around in the plaza of Ebisu Garden Place. Each of these patches here has its own little animals. The centre one, which the boys were circling, has three cats.

same day, different world. yesterday was 27 degrees in sydney. everyone slouching around in thongs with big grins. bec and i tried to vote in the local council elections, but she was in the wrong “ward” and so missed out on exercising her democratic rights. we drove back to your place with the windows down. it was dark when we arrived. i looked at the fireplace, there is still a pile of newspaper and wood ready to go. was it only 2 days ago that i made a fire?
